Welcome!

Thank you for visiting Mike Murphy Counseling. By virtue of visiting my website I can assume change is needed due to things getting too challenging in their present form. I applaud your initiative to seek out assistance in what seems to be an increasingly complicated mental health landscape, fraught with ever increasing influences and pressures.

I bring my professional training, life experiences, curiosity, personality, and dog Prince to each session, whether in office, or strolling any number of local parks or trails. Please click here to set up a free consultation.

I focus on Young Adults (Millennials) and Adolescents (Gen Z's) and upcoming (Gen Alpha’s)
  • I have a genuine affinity engaging with young people who are having trouble finding meaning, in what is an increasingly complicated time in their development.

  • I've learned first-hand as a parent one cannot deny there are an increasing number of external forces impacting young people’s launch due to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and ineffective communication.

  • I find clarity and healing can spring from the insight gained around profound influences, primarily with family but also narratives formed through one's academic and relational challenges.

  • I find it hard to look past the startling statistics around mental health, addiction, and suicide rates of our young people today. The technological and societal dynamics at play appear to only be getting more intense and in need of greater insight to support this very challenged population

As a father of young adults, I am very in tune with the uniqueness of their generation and the traps of using 20th century motivational techniques on a brain that has been impacted by vastly different experiences.

If you have an adolescent or young adult that is struggling with anxiety, depression, self-medication, or screen addiction, please email me at michaeltmurphy84@gmail.com for a free consultation for both Individual and Family Therapy.
